We are proud to present "SAN PEDRO - EP" the first release of the project D.O.C by xibalba records. 5 breathtaking songs from 180 to 221 bpm.

San Pedro or San Pedro cactus has been present in Andean cultures since at least 3300 years ago, when we have the oldest archaeological evidence found about its use. Its representation in temples and ceramics from the pre-Columbian period is usually associated with the figures of the deer, the hummingbird and the jaguar, shamanic animals par excellence in Amerindian cultures, which tells us about the weight of this cactus in local shamanism.
The Chavín culture, which dates back to three thousand years in northern Peru, in its time created an enormous ritual complex consisting of a set of temples carefully built from an architectural and acoustic point of view to maximize the visionary experience provided by the cactus, demonstrating thus its centrality in the constitution of the identity of this people.
Present since the beginning of Andean civilizations, the San Pedro cactus (or Wuachuma, one of its indigenous names), due to its importance in the culture and religion of the peoples of the area, was fiercely persecuted by the Catholic Church. Syncretizing with certain aspects of the Christian creed (hence its name “São Pedro”, the one who opens the doors of heaven), the Trichocereus pachanoi managed to survive the ethnocide promoted by the Spanish colonization, reaching its use until the present day, surviving as one of the most outstanding elements of shamanism currently practiced in Andean urban centers and in rural regions of the countries of the region.

The rites of healing and divination conducted with the ingestion of São Pedro are an important health resource activated by the humblest population who see in the cactus the possibility of curing their physical, psychic and spiritual ills, as well as divination, to break up sympathies. and love spells and with the aim of ensuring success in personal initiatives and combating all kinds of evil eye and envy of which the person may have been a victim.
